You’ve tried everything. So why does it still hurt?
You’ve rested it. You’ve stretched it. You’ve done the exercises. But if the pain keeps coming back, maybe it’s time to look at the problem differently.
Pain is the symptom. We find the source.
Better Motion with Mel uses a neuromuscular approach to uncover the missing pieces behind recurring pain and movement limitations.
Assess ➜ Activate ➜ Integrate ➜ Reinforce
Your body is unique. That's why our process is guided by continuous assessment—observing how your body responds in real time, making changes based on what we see, and progressing only when the right foundations are in place.
If you’re looking for more, you’re in the right place.
Many of the people we work with have already tried approaches that helped for a while, but didn’t fully address the bigger picture.
Whether you're managing chronic or recurring pain, recovering from an injury, navigating hypermobility, or just trying to exercise safely, the work we do is designed to adapt to your body—not force you into a protocol.

Where do we start?
Every client starts with a conversation and a thorough assessment. From there, we create a realistic, personalized plan grounded in your history, goals, and what we know about your body right now.
Hi! I’m Mel, and I’m a
Muscle System Specialist.
I've been helping people move their bodies since 2012, but my career took a turn I never saw coming.
I started as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer. I loved helping people get stronger, but one question kept nagging at me: why do some aches, pains, and movement problems keep coming back no matter how hard someone works?
That question changed everything.
-
In 2020, I discovered a completely different way of looking at the body. Instead of chasing isolated symptoms, I learned to look at the bigger picture—how the brain organizes movement, and how the adaptations designed to protect us in the short term can quietly become the source of the problem over time.
Today, I help people with chronic pain and movement limitations uncover the missing pieces behind what they're experiencing. My goal isn't just to help you feel better. It’s to help you understand your body, move with more confidence, and build resilience for the life you want to live.

While we often work alongside medical providers, we are not medical practitioners—that means we don’t diagnose medical conditions and may recommend you see a medical provider in certain cases.
Your medical provider might also refer you to us to continue progressing your healing journey. -
Not necessarily, but we’ll let you know if we think it’s best to talk to your doctor first. You can contact us HERE to start the conversation.

Every person is different, so there's no set number of sessions. Your goals, history, and assessment findings all play a role. Clients who come in consistently—usually once or twice per week—tend to make the most progress, and we'll discuss realistic expectations after your initial assessment.

No, we don’t take insurance. If you have an HSA or FSA account, you may be eligible for reimbursement by your HSA or FSA provider.

Not at all! Many clients come in with pain, but others are dealing with muscle tightness, movement limitations, or can just tell that something isn’t working the way it should. We also work with people who want to move with more confidence or achieve a specific goal--whether they're new to exercise or looking to perform at a higher level.
Many clients will continue working with us after they’re out of pain, too, and see us as a long-term training partner to keep them moving and feeling better for the long term.

We have a North Austin (Pflugerville) and South Austin location.

Not usually. Because our process relies heavily on detailed assessment and hands-on coaching, we find that in-person sessions provide the best results. In some cases, remote gym-based training may be an option as a supplement to in-person work.
